Start with sleep habits
Good sleep habits are the base of every treatment plan. On their own they help some people, and they make every other option work better.
CBT-I
Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is the recommended first line treatment for long term insomnia in adults. It works on the thoughts and habits that keep insomnia going, usually over six to eight weeks.
It is available through some NHS services, digital programmes and private therapists.
Prescription treatment
For some adults whose insomnia continues despite these steps, a prescriber may consider a licensed prescription treatment. This is only suitable after a full assessment of your health, other medicines and daily life.
Prescription treatment is reviewed regularly to check it is still working and still right for you.
How Restora Clinic fits in
Restora Clinic offers a private online assessment for UK adults with long term insomnia. A UK registered prescriber reviews every assessment and speaks with you by phone before any treatment is approved.
